‘On location’: Day 1.

So that is me ‘half way’ through the shoot of the film. So far, so good. The deliverable is 1 minute, which I will do my best to stick to but some of the shots are too nice to ditch! At the moment, although I have a few hours of footage, the film stands at over a minute but that’s just with a quick rough cut and splice. Better to be in this position than struggling for content!

So far I have filmed the bulk of the pre-dinner party preparation. A couple of scenes have been ditched already (including the most difficult which involved ladders, a piece of wood and a very still Calum holding a very expensive camera on a slightly less expensive stick!!) but so is the way of editing. The main focus of tomorrow is the dinner party itself - however I also need to film the food preparation to splice in amongst the scene(s) where mum is preparing her makeup. Mum and I also ‘taught’ the scarf a scripted, quick (15s) sentence that will be used to demonstrate the application working. I am also relieved that the microphone does infact work inside the scarf, when the wind muffler(?) is removed, phew!! I can feel a sense of relief coming on… I literally cannot wait to tweak and edit this with some time on my hands!!!
