Storyboarding… is actually quite fun. It’s in uni just now, and I am in the flat (the weather is horrid today, so a late start is called for) but I’m watching Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining” (one of my favourite films, so this is really procrastination) and I’ve had some more adventurous ideas for camera angles etc.
I don’t know where to go with my monologue / narrative though. Should the main character be reading from a book? Does the type of book that’s she reads say something about her character enhance the individuality that I am trying to portray, or would this excerpt sound random? The advantage of this is the monologue could come to a natural end as we return to the lounge, waiting for the dinner guests: the book is closed when they arrive.
I’m in Fife again this afternoon, gotta get that microphone working if it kills me, and I’ll see what I can find in the library that Mum particularly liked reading. If she’s up to it after the microphone battle, I’ll maybe record her and see how it feels.
