Magic happens! →
I suddenly have a rough prototype!
I can speak into a microphone, and the speech is turned into a text display on my ipod touch! MAGIC!
Many thanks to Pablo for helping me work this out!
Breakthrough - got voice recognition speaking through my mac and displayed on ipod touch! More to come!

Actually. Is it nice that everyone wears their scarf different? Is it that individuality that could strengthen the project? Men certainly tend to wear scarves differently to women… so maybe my challenge would be to ensure that the display is easliy made visible… it still would need to be structured around the screen area for support of the internal gadgetory, though. I must stop...

As discussed in my dissertation, often the greatest products that are used by the physically disabled are intuitive uses of existing technologies / products. For my prototype, a key factor is the microphone. It must be clear, and have a strong background noise removal quality.
Slightly to the side of this, the dysarthric voice often is quiet, and the person has some benefit from using voice...
